BRP-Rotax now offers EarthX Aircraft battery under its own brand name

PIC Rotax Aircraft Lithium Battery
22. srpna 2024

Gunskirchen, Austria, July 21th, 2024 – The trusted Lithium Iron Phosphate battery from EarthX is now being marketed under the Rotax brand. Tested by BRP-Rotax for compatibility and reliability with Rotax Aircraft engines, it's a modern, safe alternative that brings many benefits to pilots.

Advantages over traditional batteries

The Lithium Iron Phosphate technology isn't just safer; it also offers several advantages:

  • Weighing only 1.8 - 2.2kg, it's just one-third the weight of the typical lead-acid batteries.
  • Thanks to higher cranking amps, it boasts significantly better cold-start performance.
  • Much longer life span, up to 2-3X longer.
  • Discharge rate is 1-2% per month compared to a typical lead acid battery which can be as much as 30% per month, so the battery stays charged much longer of non use.

The batteries include the latest Battery Management System (BMS) with:

  • Includes over-discharge protection for longer battery life.
  • Redundant charge and discharge protection circuits
  • Local LED battery fault light indicator
  • Remote battery monitoring connection (for EFIS or LED light on the panel)

Available through the Rotax Authorized Distribution Network

Customers can choose from two sizes:

  • 680C (12.4AH), 1.8kg
  • 900 (16AH), 2.2kg

After rigorous testing across all Rotax 4-stroke carbureted and fuel-injected engines, this battery is now part of the Rotax accessories portfolio available through their global network. Find all global contacts here: https://dealerlocator.flyrotax.com/
